Zahara’s Family Confirm Singer is Hospitalised

In an attempt to combat the spread of misinformation, the family of renowned singer Zahara have officially announced today, Monday 27 November, that she has been admitted into hospital.

“We wanted to take this opportunity as a family to express gratitude for the outpouring of love, support and compassion,” the family said in a statement on Twitter before adding that they wanted to give her fans an update.

According to the statement, the 35-year-old singer – who is privately known as Bulelwa Mkutukana – was admitted to hospital a week ago after she complained about bodily pains.

“The doctors are working diligently and we await further updates from them,” the statement elaborated.

The family also pointed out that some media outlets had jumped the gun on sharing the news before the clan was ready, and that some inside sources may have shared disingenuous information. One publication went so far as to claim that Mkutukana was “fighting for her life”.

“We want to stress that any reliable information regarding Zahara’s health will be communicated via her social media platform or by herself,” the team stated firmly before asking for prayers and privacy moving forward.
